While that little puppy in the window at the pet store may be adorable, please take a moment to consider the consequences of purchasing a pet store dog.  You may think that you will help a little puppy attain a better life - and that may be true.  But for every dog purchased from a pet store, there is another one to take its place.  And the Mom producing those puppies has the worst life ever.  She has most likely never had the opportunity to sit on someone's lap and watch TV; she probably rarely gets fresh water; she is probably never out of her cage and never sees a kind hand wanting to stroke her head.

Most of the puppies in pet stores arrive there via brokers.  There are two main brokers, but I will not mention their names on my site for fear of being sued.  These brokers claim to work with "quality, licensed, professional" breeders and then supply the puppies to the pet stores.  I can assure you that the pretty pictures they paint do  not tell the whole story.

The link below will take you to a different site where you can learn more about these atrocious conditions.  Please note that some of the pictures you will see may be disturbing.
